Kent Noard, CFP® EA
Kent E. Noard is the principal of KLN Financial Group and has been in private practice since 1981, providing tax preparation and planning, and financial planning and consulting. He is an Enrolled Agent, enrolled to practice before the Internal Revenue Service. This allows him to represent clients before the IRS and the Franchise Tax Board. He is a member of the National Association of Enrolled Agents (NAEA) and the California Society of Enrolled Agents (CSEA).
Kent is also a Certified Financial Planner® and a member of the Financial Planning Association (FPA). He has served as President and Chairman of the Board of the Silicon Valley Society and is a former member of the National Board of Directors of the ICFP, one of the predecessors of the FPA.
Kent is an instructor and coordinator of the PFP Certificate program at the University of California at Santa Cruz Extension. The certificate program is accredited by the CFP Board of Standards, allowing students who complete the program to sit for the CFP examination. At UC Extension, he teaches the Income Tax Planning and Practicum courses, and has previously taught the Survey of Personal Financial Planning, Mathematics of Financial Planning and Employment Benefits and Retirement Planning classes. He has also taught classes on Individual Income Taxation in the graduate finance program at Golden Gate University and the undergraduate program at National University.
Prior to entering private practice, Kent was employed with the Internal Revenue Service. During his career with the IRS, he was a collection representative, an office auditor, a revenue agent, and the Assistant Tax Shelter Coordinator for the San Francisco District.
Kent has made presentations on taxes, tax planning, and financial planning to: DeAnza College Senior seminars, the Silicon Valley Chapter of the FPA, the FPA Northern California Regional Financial Planning Conference, the East Bay Chapter of the FPA, the San Francisco Chapter of the FPA, the East Bay Chapter of the Taxation Committee of the California Society of CPA’s, the Santa Clara County Estate Planning Council, and the Peninsula Estate Planning Council.
Spiro D. Lougaris, EA
Spiro is an Enrolled Agent, licensed by the federal government to prepare tax returns for individuals, businesses, estates, trusts and tax exempt organizations in all fifty states. Additionally, he is qualified to represent clients before the IRS and the Franchise Tax Board throughout the audit, appeals and collections processes. Spiro also possesses expertise in the area of employment taxation, assisting businesses in complying with their employment tax and filing obligations.
Prior to joining KLN, Spiro held management positions at Fortune 500 companies in the software, semiconductor and data storage industries, managing teams of professionals and multi-million dollar budgets. He graduated from St. Mary's College of California with a Bachelor of Arts in Management and was a Certified Purchasing Manager and Certified in Production and Inventory Management.
Spiro is committed to continuously adding to his knowledge and expertise. He is a member of the National Association of Enrolled Agents (NAEA), the California Society of Enrolled Agents (CSEA), and the Financial Planning Association (FPA), and is presently preparing to sit for the rigorous Certified Financial Planner™ examination.
David J. McClure, Personal Financial Planner
Dave McClure has been in private practice since 2002 providing business consulting and personal financial planning services.
Dave is an experienced business executive with an extensive financial background which includes being the interim or permanent CEO and CFO for multiple startup companies and two nonprofit organizations. He has well-honed analytical skills that he couples with life goal setting, personal and family budgeting tools, financial statement analysis and financial modeling applications to develop comprehensive personal financial plans or give episodic advice on specific situations for clients. Because of his broad business background, he is able to assist small business owners with their business decisions on strategy, operations, finances and fundraising, and can help them integrate their business plans with their personal financial plans.
Dave has a BS degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, MS from the University of Southern California, MBA from the Paul Merage School of Business at the University of California, Irvine, and a Certificate in Personal Financial Planning from the University of California at Santa Cruz Extension. In July 2008, Dave passed the very rigorous examination required to become a CFP® - a Certified Financial Planner. He is a member of the Financial Planning Association
